Mustang Club Events FAQ
In order to be eligible for Mustang Club sanctioning, an event must be in the best interest of the Mustang Club and its purposes and meet the sanctioning requirements. All events sanctioned by the Mustang Club are covered under the club's liability insurance unless they are held by another group or organization. All sanctioning requirements must be met before an event will be considered sanctioned/insured. See the Summary of Insurance Coverage for details regarding the terms, conditions and limitations of the insurance policy. The Mustang Club reserves the right to deny or cancel sanctioning and insurance status if any of these requirements are not met.
Why does Mustang Club sanction events?
Mostly for insurance reasons. Sanctioning is a way for us to document and provide liability insurance for the events we have. Remember anybody attending a sanctioned activity is covered by our liability insurance, even non-members. An event is defined as any club activity, social function, meeting, picnic, cruise, tour, meet & greet, cruise night, party, parade, rally, poker run, convention. Any social gathering of Mustang Club members organized by Mustang Club or its members is considered an event and requires pre-approval for sanctioning.
Can non-members be invited to Mustang Club sanctioned events?
Yes, and at sanctioned events, our liability insurance covers members and non-members alike.
Who can add events to the national calendar?

How do I apply for Mustang Club to sanction an event?

sanction requirements page, (high, medium, or low risk), then fill out a simple online form, and send in any required fees.
What are the sanctioning requirements?
The requirements are different for each of three event types (high, medium, or low risk).

Mustang Club owners, managers, officers, chapter coordinators, event organizers, volunteers, attendees, sponsors, and premises owners.
Mustang Club Directors are volunteers and are covered also.
Is there a sanctioning fee for my event?
Most events will not have a fee to be sanctioned.
If there is a fee or not depends on what type of event it is (high, medium, or low risk).
Determine the event type and fees from the
sanction requirements page.
Are you concerned this might keep members from attending functions?
The cost of coverage for each attendee in most cases is free, or as little as a cup of coffee. Remember anybody attending a sanctioned activity is covered by our liability insurance policy, even non-members. Event sanctioning is in the best interest of the club and its members.
Do I have to have a signed guest book at my Mustang Club sanctioned event?
Sometimes, yes. But if the event is a low or medium risk type, there is no reporting needed.
Do I have to have liability waivers signed at my Mustang Club sanctioned event?
Most events, the low and medium risk type, do not need signed liability waivers.
For the high risk events, we will provide you with liability waivers.
Each attendee has to sign and date the liability waiver.
With respect to minors, the release and waiver form must be signed by the minor person's parent or legal guardian.
If someone refuses to sign the waiver when entering a high risk event, they will not receive any insurance coverage and should not be allowed to participate.
What about informal local cruise nights we have every Saturday in the summer?
Most small meetings and activities can be sanctioned without fees.
We provide a simple method to apply for sanctioning that includes the provision for recurring events.
To apply for the Mustang Club to sanction your activities fill out a simple
online form in your member account.
What about caravanning out of town and to other Mustang Club events?
Driving to and from and during an event should be covered by your own car insurance.
Why is a car show, rally or poker run a high risk event?
Because our insurance company classifies it as such.
